What a way to end the year with a BANG~~~ Adrien thought he broke his foot when he was sledding.  SO we had to get get an Xray to be sure, turns out it was just a bad sprain.

HUNKER DOWN for Hurricane Sandy-- Not us!

Since school was cancelled Monday in anticipation of "Franken-STORM" aka Huricane Sandy...my birds were up and tweeting - bright and early!  They were excited to spend Monday morning together and Adrien surprised both myself and his sister, Fiona with a sweet little breakfast tray to start off the day!

After a few hours of trying to lay low and just wait out the storm (basically watching the rain & mild wind)...since my lil'birds had WHOLE day off school we just had to venture out to our FAVORITE grocery store/cafe/meet-up @Wegman's for a little "Hurricane" playdate.  Don't worry we were there only when it was SAFE to be out and about during the day.  The hurricane wasn't even expected to hit landfall until 8pm here where we live in Mechanicsburg, PA.  

While there we bumped into Adrien's art teacher and he informed us that there was NO school on Tuesday either~~~ oh my!  The store was BUZZING with energy and talk of the Hurricane~ but no one seemed in a big rush to go home so we had a PIZZA lunch/COLORING party - the kids also played "Angry Birds!"  I'm thinking Hurricane or NOT --- this NEEDS to be a regular playdate for sure!  

We did survive the storm with one minor problem...we decided to spend the night at Meemaw's house @11pm last night because of eletrical power problems...thanks goodness they are only a mile down the road!  Thankfully, we are back in our house ALL together tonight and looking forward to the rest of the week~ I hope everyone has a warm place to lay there head tonight and is SAFE & SOUND!  Let's hope the last few days of October are not as CRAZY!

After the Parade was over...we walked back home for a BONFIRE & SOME SPARKLER FUN!!! Master Flick got a little crazy and ALMOST set the TREE on fire with his OVER ZEALOUS sparkler TOSS!  Good thing the garden hose was never properly put away and he put out the fire before it got out of control!!

The Kids had a BLAST at the CVHS Football game, it was CHILLY but we did enough cheering and dancing to keep warm and cheery!
